Let's do a simple, elegant cookie which — keeping with our love theme — has a phallic shape. How convenient!
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick=4 ounces)
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup molasses
1 cup + 2 tablespoons A.P. flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon brandy
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Procedure
Preheat oven to 375. In a medium saucepan, combine the butter, sugar, and molasses and stir till all the butter has melted. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Add the flour, salt, ginger, brandy, and vanilla stir till smooth. The batter will look like caramel, Using a teaspoon scoop cookie dough in walnut size balls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. These will spread very large so put them 3 inches apart. Bake for 7-8 minutes, or until they are brown. Remove from oven and wait 10-12 seconds and then remove them with a thin blade spatula and roll them around the stem of a wooden spoon into a tube then slide off and let cool. If they harden up before you can roll them place, put them back in the oven for 10 seconds and they will soften back up. You can also drape them over small oranges and make bowls, which you can also fill with good stuff, fill with pastry bag when cool.
